Feeding Neighbors Chickens for Mystery Eggs

Along with last night's update and the addition of some new items, you now have the option to feed your friend's chickens when you visit their farms:

You can both request help and offer help, but note that the mystery eggs you find for feeding your neighbor's chickens are not yours to keep! You have to give them away, just as if you had found them on your own farm:

If you're selfish though and don't want to share the eggs, you can always join an egg group and use this as an opportunity to find more eggs to share within the group!

All in all though, this change has made visiting your neighbor's farms a decent way to get extra experience points, since now you can help out their farms for bonus experience, then fertilize their crops for bonus experience, and now feed their chickens for a third bonus to experience points.

If your computer is fast enough, you can net an extra few hundred experience points each day in a very short amount of time. Speaking of computers - my new one is supposed to ship in today, so expect more frequent and regular updates!

  1. With all of these new chickens, you'd think they'd open up another chicken coop.

  2. Is fertiliser now being restricted? I got halfway through my 'helping other farmers' routine and had no fertiliser left for the rest. My friend's farm did the same.

  4. I think they're having major bugs right now due to the changes to neighbor's farms.

I did 25 farms without problems, but on the 26th farm and onward, I got the "No Fertilizer" image and I couldn't use their coops, even though they had a full coop and plenty of non-sparkly crops. Then I got out of sync with the server. When I came back, my account was inaccessible (it would sit at the loading screen forever). The same thing happened to a coworker under the same situation. It's several hours later and I still can't access my account, although I can access my wife's and my daughter's from this same machine.

My guess is that there are some farm corruption issues in the code. This is probably why they turned off withering, so the crops don't die while you're waiting for your farm to get fixed.

  5. I had a similar experience this morning. I fertilized crops and fed chickens sucessfully at most of my neighbors farms. But with just two neighbors to go, my farm locked up and hasn't been accessable since. I have also been able to access another farm from the same machine, but unable to get to my farm from other computers.

This corruption appears to happen when you visit neighbors. If you stay home and take care of your own farm, everything seems to stay OK.

  6. I'd advise not play right now. I had fifty farmville cash saved up and now it says I have none.

  7. I'd chalk it up to server issues - I know they're getting slammed from people exchanging free fuel x 100000000000 lol

  9. Can still only fertilise and feed chicks at 20 neighbours. Is this still a bug, or a new policy?
How do I find out/get it fixed?

  10. Fertiliser now available for all my neighbours, but only chicken feed for 20. What's the rule? 20 only?

  11. Eggs now only 'hatchable' 3 times instead of 5!!
