FarmVille Upcoming? Ribbons; Strategy Guide

Thanks to Scott who submitted this to me and originally posted it on his blog. He found a list of multiple unlocked achievements by digging through FarmVille's XML files.

Hoarder
Have [8/20/50/100] items in storage.

They of Mystery
Open [2/6/15/30] mystery boxes.

Fenced In
Place [5/50/100/250] fences.

Baled Out
Place [5/50/100/250] bales of hay.

Gas Guzzler
Use [10/25/50/100] tanks of fuel.

Need for Seed
Plant [200/1000/2500/10000] crops with the seeder.

Seasoned Decorator
Collect [5/25/50/100] seasonal decorations.

Cracked
Open [5/10/25/50] of your neighbor's eggs.

Cat Lady
Brush [10/25/50/100] cats.

Foremost Fruit Farmer
Harvest [15/500/2500/10000] fruits.

Egg-celent Discovery
Find [5/10/25/50] eggs. (your own eggs that you give away)


Based on a variety of trends, these all seem reasonable.

1) The developers of FarmVille are definitely pushing the player to use more fuel, so the Gas Guzzler achievement makes sense. I'll go into that in a later post.

2) The Fruit Farming achievement is definitely next in line considering we first saw the Flower Power Ribbon added a few months back and now the Vegetable Virtuoso ribbon a recent update.

3) Anything that increases Zynga's bottom line is likely to occur - so They of Mystery (the mystery box ribbon) seems like a likely candidate. I can see rivers of tears coming from that one though - 30 mystery boxes = 480 Farm Cash, which would run quite a bit of real life money!

  1. This has to be upcoming, at least the mystery box one. I've opened at least a half-dozen and no ribbon, so I doubt these are hidden.

    Great info! I'll be sure to wait now on going for that Lord of the Plow ribbon (which isnt really worth it by itself), until I can work on the fuel guzzler at the same time.

  2. Oops, I meant hidden as in hidden in the XML files not hidden as you can unlock them they just don't show up! Changed it to be more clear, thanks.

  3. 30 mbox = 480 FC, and with no discount 480FC = $80 US dollars, that seems to be excessive. It sucks coz ppl don't rly want so many mbox anyway, e.g. in the latest mbox, the vast majority of ppl only want the alpaca.

    So i'm pretty sure unless Zynga significantly lower the amount, there will be HUGE outcries and proests in the zynga forum. Zynga is really getting greedier and greedier....

  4. After you get about lvl 20 or so, the ribbons arent worth it unless you just want ribbons. I mean come on, the best lord of the plow payoff is NOTHING compared to what you spend on the vehicle and fuel. If the gas guzzler payoff isnt VERY good, Im selling off all my fuel refills to clear up space in my gift box.

    I must have 150 fuel too, but come on Zynga...you make the user interface lousy, and then you make people pay for a better user inferface. It's the zwinky toolbar all over again, enjoy your class action lawsuit.

  5. The mystery box ribbon "They of mystery" and the fruit one "Foremost fruit farmer" came today.

    The "They of mystery" yellow ribbon is worth two magic boxes.

    The fruit ribbon seems to be the same as the vegetable one.

  6. @guy wanting to sell fuel, just use your fuel from the gift box..the fuel stacks on the bar, so if you have 150, it'll say 150 bars on the gauge

  7. I won't spend a penny on Farmville stuff. I'm not even going to bother about stuff that requires FV cash to get. Having said that, only the Mystery box one really requires cash for.

  8. Does anyone know if the 'gas guzzler' ribbon is to be awarded when gas is put INTO the tank (like from gift box), or when it is used up in the tractor/seeder?

  9. If you have any bales of hay, sell them off NOW. I've found the fences I already had do not count towards the 'fence' ribbon, but if I sell them off, they are subtracted from my number. i.e. I had 2 old ones, sold off one and now need to get another 6 to count as 5 for a ribbon!

  10. How does Gas Guzzler work? If I have a "20 Fuel Refills" item in my gift box and turn it in... is that 20 refills or 1?
