The Zoologist blue ribbon requires that you collect from 5,000 animals. If you are only collecting from dairy farms then:
If you run five full dairy farms you can finish in 50 FarmVille days (100 collects - a FarmVille day is 23 real life hours).
If you run four dairy farms, you can finish in 62.5 FarmVille days.
If you run three dairy farms, you can finish in 83.33 FarmVille days.
If you run two dairy farms, you can finish in 125 FarmVille days.
If you run one dairy farm, it will take you 250 FarmVille days to complete the blue zoologist ribbon!
If you're working on all the ribbons (I am!) then you might want to consider adding all 5 dairy farms to your farm, and when you finish the zoologist ribbon, you can get rid of the ones you do not want.
As another poster had mentioned, if you fill up the farms with strawberry cows, they will be a lot more profitable.
