In FarmVille, each crop is different. Some crops grow very quickly while some take a few days go grow. Some crops pay more coins than others while some crops give more experience points. This leaves us with a few variables of interest which will be outlined in the strategy guide below.
If you want to level up, we should look at experience points per hour. This will tell us which crop gives the most experience points and results in the fastest levels. Experience points per hour is calculated by adding up the experience points from plowing the field and planting the crop and dividing that by the time it takes for the crop to grow (experience points earned / hours till harvest).
If you want to make the most coins, that is covered in the Crop Profits post.
If you want to make the most coins, that is covered in the Crop Profits post.
Side note: These numbers will not be 100% accurate because it takes time to harvest, plow, and replant your fields. If you are doing everything without vehicles, it can take 5-20 minutes (depending on the size of your farm) to plow, plant, and harvest all of your crops. In other words, while Raspberries might provide .5 XP/hr theoretically, when you account for the time it takes to plow, plant, and harvest them, this number might be closer to .4 XP/hr. Experience Points per Hour:
Crop Name: ((XP for planting + 1 XP for plowing) / hours it takes crop to grow)
Eggplant: (2 +1) / 46 hours = .065 xp per hour
Wheat: (2 + 1) / 69 hours = .043 xp per hour
Soybeans: (2+1) / 23 hours = .13 xp per hour
Squash: (2+1) / 46 hours = .056 xp per hour
Pumpkin: (1+1) / 8 hours = .25 xp per hour
Artichokes: (2+1) / 92 hours = .033 xp per hour
Rice: (1+1) / 12 hours = .167 xp per hour
Raspberries: (0+1) / 2 hours = .5 xp per hour
Cotton: (2+1) / 69 hours = .043 xp per hour
Bell Peppers: (2+1) / 46 hours = .056 xp per hour
Peppers: (1+1) / 23 hours = .087 xp per hour
Aloe Vera: (1+1) / 6 hours = .33 xp per hour
Pineapples: (2+1) / 46 hours = .056 xp per hour
Blueberries: (1+1) / 4 hours = .5 xp per hour
Watermelon: (2+1) / 92 hours = .033 xp per hour
Grapes: (2+1) / 23 hours = .13 xp per hour
Tomatoes: (1+1) / 8 hours = .25 xp per hour
Potatoes: (2+1) / 69 hours = .043 xp per hour
Carrots: (1+1) / 12 hours = .167 xp per hour
Coffee: (1+1) / 16 hours = .125 xp per hour
Corn: (2+1) / 69 hours = .043 xp per hour
Sunflowers: (2+1) / 23 hours = .13 xp per hour
Cabbage: (2 + 1) / 46 hours = .056 xp per hour
Green Tea: (1+1) / 10 hours = .2 xp per hour
Black Berries: (1+1) / 4 hours = .5 xp per hour
Red Wheat: (2+1) / 69 hours = .043 xp per hour
Sugar Cane: (1+1) / 8 hours = .25 xp per hour
Peas: (3+1) / 23 hours = .17 xp per hour
Yellow Melon: (2+1) / 92 hours = .033 xp per hour
Onion: (1+1) / 12 hours = .167 xp per hour
Broccoli: (2+1) / 46 hours = .056 xp per hour
Asparagus: (2+1) / 16 hours = .19 xp per hour
As you can see, the fastest growing crops are the best for getting the most experience points. The top - 5 experience points crops are:
1. Black Berries, Blueberries, Strawberries - .5 xp per hour
2. Raspberries - .5 xp per hour (even though raspberries calculate out to the same as the berries above, in reality they produce less experience points due to replanting times)
3. Aloe Vera - .33 xp per hour
4. Pumpkins, Tomatoes, and Sugar Cane - .25 xp per hour
5. Asparagus - .19 xp per hour
